Calculating the area of a triangle is easy, if you know the right formula. Without getting into too much detail behind the mechanics of polygons and how the area is determined, let’s work on the formula…
The formula to find the area of a triangle is:
1/2 x (b)ase x (h)eight = area
Where “b” and “h” refer to the base and the height respectively.
Here is an illustration to help you visualize:
So, if the base is 6 and the height is 4, we find the area of this rectangle by multiplying 1/2 x 6 x 4 = 12.
